Project Life: Title Page & Week One

Good morning everyone. My apologies for not posting last week, I wasn't feeling well and my schedule has been all over the place lately. I've been keeping up with my Project Life though, and sticky notes have been my best friend. At the end of each week I plan out my page with sticky notes and then work on it when I'm not at work. I keep track of what we do every day in a day planner for reference.

This is my first year doing PL, but I've been gathering kits, supplies and inspiration since the middle of last year. Those of you who follow me on Instagram would have seen this photo of my PL collection. There's quite a few new kits I'd like to get my hands on, particularly anything by Maggie Holmes and Dear Lizzy. I Feel that their kits would compliment the Blush & 5th & Frolic editions I'm currently using.

Thanks to some tips I found on Pinterest, I brought the step ladder in, and cleared a space on my desk to photograph my pages. I should have slid them a little further to the left for optimal lighting, but they turned out better than I thought they would.

Alright, here's my title page. This page uses the suggested front page cards from the 5th & Frolic Edition by Becky Higgins. To set my title page apart from others using the same kit, I swapped the position of the top two cards and added the tree card to the left, a photo on the right 3x4 card, and the Twenty Fourteen to the bottom right with some washitape. I feel like something is missing, but I'm happy with it.

Since this is our first album, on the back of my title page, I put the only photos I have of the two of us (almost two years together and we have two photos together, this will hopefully change this year). Then I wrote a simplified version of how we met and got to where this a album starts.

I didn't take many photos week one, mostly because it was a short week and at the time, a personal album was furthest from my mind, but with the help of a photo challenge from December, a friend, and another photo I shared of my progress on my Vancouver album, I had enough to complete a single page. I downloaded printable month cards and printed it at 5x7, (but could have just as easily typed them out myself, with a font I liked) and added washitape. I also downloaded calendar cards, printed those at 3x2 and have been attaching them to my week title cards, with the week highlighted. This week I used the 5th & Frolic Edition.

Here's the two pages together, and I wish the right side was brighter, but I'm still happy with it.

I'm using the 5th & Frolic album as well. I thought it was beautiful, and absolutely fitting for the 'theme' of my album.

Have a great day!
-Alex
