Scrapping My Stash | Gift Tags

I've decided that I need to stop buying supplies and actually start using the ones I have. That being said, I'm going to try to Scrap My Stash when I get the chance, and use only things  that I've been hoarding for no reason other than my style is simple and I rarely embellish, but continue buying diecuts and ephemera packs.

This week I'm sharing some tags I made using the gold glitter pocket tags from this old Studio Calico kit. Originally I had thought about using these tags in a tag mini album for the latest minibook class at Studio Calico (here).

I tried to keep them pretty simple, and wanted some of the gold glitter to still show. Since the tags have pockets (you can fit money or a gift card inside the pocket) I only decorated the bottom half of the tag. I stuck with pink and black embellishments because I have the most of those colours, and wanted to use them up a bit. Plus what girl doesn't love gold?

I started with at least one black label on each tag, and added the pink embellishments after. I tried to make them all a little different, while keeping a similar look to all of them.

These tags were so quick and easy to make. You could do something similar with tags that don't have pockets. You could include them in a mini album, or on a gift, or add them to a card. I think I'll make little cards to fit inside of them and add them to gift bags.

I hope that this post encourages you to use your supplies and not just keep them on a shelf where you'll never use them.
Have a great day!

Christmas Gift Tags

I love Christmas. I've been working hard this year to make our first Christmas in the house special. I've made some decorations, we've bought a ton of things, and I'm trying to be more creative with my gift wrapping. Last year I made a bunch of gift tags, but only used one or two, this year I dug them out again and plan to share them with you!

These are the three tags that I made last year. They were all made using leftover pieces of Christmas cards last year.

This first two were made using the left over pieces of some trees I made. I used the Give a Hoot cartridge for my Cricut. I used the centre pieces to put snow onto trees I put on a Christmas card, and rather than waste these pieces I made them into tags.

This one was made using the Create a Critter cartridge for the Cricuit. I put Penguins onto some cards last year and had a bunch of extras, so I made them into adorable little tags!

Making your own gift tags is super simple! I've even used these on little outgoing card orders and put a little thank you on the back!

That's all for today, hope you're all getting into the Christmas spirit!

Gift Tags

Good morning lovelies! Hope you all have exciting plans for the weekend, I plan to pack up some of my craft supplies I'm not going to be using in the next little while, and pack up some clothes I don't wear any more that I can either sell or donate. I also have to work, like every other weekend.

Last week, while I wasn't working, and after my trip, I worked on some gift tags. I wanted to use up some of my scraps in a new way (besides the same old cards), so I made a TON of gift tags. They'll be going to the shop when it opens.

First up, I made these with opposite rounded corner. I love this shape!

Then I made some traditional tag shaped tags using the same papers.

I also made some pink chevron tags. These are among my favourites!

Floral tags, I love the colours of this.

These were made to look like the hello darling card I made a few weeks ago, inspired by Project Life.

Love this shade of blue, or teal. However you want to look at it.

These were supposed to be light blue chevron, but I didn't realize until afterwards that I cut them the wrong way. Simply a crafter problem.

These ones were made using the scraps from the paper for my coasters. They're so elegant looking.

This was made with a paper from the rainbow set, I just cut it the opposite way.

Orange is becoming my new favourite colour!

A piece of scrap paper from the bottom of my box. I've used it on numerous cards, and I love the variety of colours in it.

When the shop opens, I'll be sure to inform all of you! I'd also love to see any of your crafty projects.
Have a wonderful weekend.
