Project Life | Week 27 & 28

Today I'm sharing Week 27 & 28. I had a similar layout last year, where I shared two weeks in the same two page spread. This week was one of those ones where you're caught up in all the craziness of life and don't take many photos. This week I used Studio Calico, some of my watercoloured cards and Kellie Stamps.

Left side; This side is week 27. I started working on my first embroidered layout this week. I was trying to relax after the stress of everything going on lately. It helped immensely, and I see more embroidery happening in my future. And of course, not one but two cute Gracie photos.
The right side; week 28. The top left photo is my "arrivals" report at work. It tells me who's checking in, what room they're checking into, and gives me a total check in number. I covered the sensitive information before I took the photo, and journaled on that blank space. Another cute Gracie photo, the finished embroidered page, and the Week in the Life photo I shared on Instagram, and my blog.

I understand that this spread doesn't quite cover everything that was going on during those two weeks, but I'm okay with that. I don't want to remember how close I was to having a mental breakdown, or how much Jon and I were arguing those two weeks. I realize that's part of our story, but I don't want to devote an entire page to documenting that because I don't have enough photos to fill the page.

I'll see you all on Wednesday when I share Saturday of my Week in the Life album. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Week In The Life | Friday

Today I'm sharing my Friday pages from my Week in the Life album. Some of my favourite photos from the entire week were taken on Friday, particularly the rain on the window in both of the 6x8 photos for this day. I also have a 6x8 photo of my sister sleeping that makes me laugh.

The 9 on the "loving it" card is because we woke up at 9. It was nice to sleep in one day this week.

The "top ten" card came in the kit, and I immediately knew I wanted to document the top 10 songs from this week. It fit in here because driving home we heard the top 10 songs. Some of them we heard through most of the trip, and laughed about.

I hadn't planned to print this photo as a 6x8, but I wanted to print the rain photo on the other side at 6x8, so I printed this one larger as well, and my sister thinks it's funny that I love this photo so much.

That's it for Friday. I'll be sharing Saturday pages on Wednesday next week.

Have a great weekend!

Week In The Life | Thursday

Today I'm sharing Thursday of my Week in the Life album. I cut a bunch of photos out of this day because I'm working on a mini album from a previous trip to the zoo, so I only used a couple of photos to document that we went to the zoo.

The kit only came with one weather card, so using the digital kit (here) I printed some extras to put the weather I documented onto. The bottom right card is from Studio Calico.

The "I'm Awesome" card is from Studio Calico.

Thank you for coming by to see my pages. I hope you're enjoying looking at my album so far. I don't have much to say about it. I documented all the words from each day in the spreads, and I don't want to repeat myself. Plus for me, sharing the details of the day isn't as important as how I brought the words and the photos together.

Have a great day. I'll be back on Friday sharing my Friday pages.

Project Life | Week 26

Happy Monday friends! Today I'm sharing a layout that was a little more creative than past spreads. This week I used some watercolour cards that I made. I mixed in some Studio Calico cards and some Kellie Stamps (again).
Left side; I wanted to make this spread bright and fun so I used yellow and red cards. When I looked at that lemon card I thought "what in the world, would I use this for?" This spread has nothing to do with lemons, but the colours matched.

Look at my adorable nephew! And then look at my ridiculous cat. These two photos make this spread one of my favourites so far this year.

Right side; Wine. That is all. Just kidding, I included a shot of the weather forecast for the week because towards the end of the week we had the hottest days of the year. Thank god we got our A/C put in on the hottest day of the year, in the early morning hours.

Jon made some delicious burgers this week, we played boardgames and had wine, and a beautiful sunsnet. I love that in the summer the sun sets later so I can catch a bit of it after I leave work at 10:00pm.

Thank you so much for coming by to see this spread. I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone and use some of the embellishments I've accumulated but never seem to use for various reasons. I'll see you all on Wednesday when I share Thursday of my Week in The Life album. Have a wonderful day!

Week In The Life | Wednesday

Today I'm sharing a TON of pages that I put in for Wednesday. I took a lot of photos that I wanted to include, and while I did actually edit out A LOT of photos, there were still a lot that went into this spread. I also made a "flip page" to add in a few extra photos, and I'll explain how I made that when I get there.

The right side is the front of my flip out page. You can see the edge of a journaling card that is tucked in behind the front page.
To make this pocket, I cut the top row of 4x6 pockets off a Design A pocket page by Becky Higgins. I punched extra holes so it would fit in the album. I folded it in half along the seam between the two 4x6 pockets (in the center). The top row has 4 3x4 pockets and the bottom has 2 4x6 pockets. When the page is folded in half, the right edge of the pockets don't hit the "spine" of the pocket page (where the holes are) so they don't interfere with the page going on to the rings, and you don't have to worry about trimming and re-sealing anything.

I love that this page allowed me to add extra photos without adding a whole extra page to the album. It made me happy that I could be so creative about it (plus I'd run out of pocket pages with 2 3x4s and 1 4x6).

The grey "chase adventure" card and the "sorry not sorry" cards are from my stash. The other two came in the kit.

*I'm sorry if the top right photo offends anyone. I don't believe in censoring my life, or the photos I take.*

On the right I added in a little glassine pocket from my stash to add in some things from the movies, and an extra photo. The front of the pocket has a "Movie Review" card from Studio Calico. I just glued it to the pocket and added the info and a little perforated strip from the kit.

Here's a glimpse of what's inside the pocket. 2 movie tickets (the four of us went to the movie, and they all gave me their tickets so I can add some to my regular PL as well), the play card from the arcade, and a photo of the prizes Jon and I won for ourselves.

Thank you so much for coming to check out my Wednesday pages. I have never made a mini album (smaller than 12x12 is considered a mini album to me) that didn't have layers and lots of bulk. This might be one of my favourites to day though.

Have a great weekend. I'll be back on Wednesday next week sharing Thursday.
