Today I'm sharing another hunting layout. This one was inspired by a different piece of pattern paper, but I made this one from papers I've been using for these layouts. I love how it turned out.
The photo was simple and I wanted the background to be the star. I love how it turned out. I love the labels at the corners. I used this digital set from Kellie Stamps and just coloured them in shades of brown, green, and grey.
I used my sewing machine to stitch the edges of each paper layer down. It took some time, but I love the texture it adds. I love the texture combinations of the different papers. Some are smooth, but the patterns add the appearance of different texture.
Thanks for coming by to see this spread. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hunting Layout 10/24
Hooray another hunting layout. I'm sure you're all tired of seeing them, but I have this desire to share my work here whether or not it fits into the mold that has been created. I love making pretty layouts, but I also feel that it's important to tell as many stories as you can, even if it's just a bunch of photos telling the stories.
This layout uses a cut file from one of the very early rounds of Paiges Pages over at Big Picture Classes. I used the extra pieces for a the last couple of layouts as well. Here I just cut some random scraps to fit into the open sections and layered a few of the white pieces to create white on white dimension.
Here you can see some of the texture the corrugated and white pieces add to the layout. I also stamped the date into the lines. I don't have a specific date but the month is more than enough.
Thanks for coming to see this layout. Have a wonderful day!

Hunting Layout 9/24
Today I'm sharing the second half of the two page spread I shared last week (here). I've arranged them to show that the pattern matches regardless of which page is on the left and which is on the right.
This side of the layout has a slightly wonkier flow to the pattern. It wasn't until I got to the second page that I thought maybe it would be a good idea to use a ruler to make everything straight, but even so some of the spacing between white pieces is seriously off.
I added more leaves and the same date stamp to this layout. I love that they just add a little something extra to the layout.
Thank you for coming over here to check out this page in all of it's imperfect-ness. One thing I love about scrapbooking is that I'm the only one who cares about the flaws. Everyone else just looks at each of the design elements and how the things I used worked together. They don't necessarily see the pencil lines I forgot to erase, or the crooked paper strips or the rough cutting around the leaves. Have a great weekend.

Hunting Layout 8/24
Today's hunting layout is part one of a two page set. Today I'm sharing the piece on the left, but next week I show that the pages can be placed in either order and still fit together.
The background for this layout uses more pieces from the last hunting layout I shared (just the little pieces) and I created a scattered herringbone pattern with them. It's not perfect, but you get the pattern idea. We have a similar pattern on our bedroom wall with vinyl.
I added a few little leaves and a non-specific date stamp.
Thanks for coming by to see this layout. I hope you have a wonderful day. On Wednesday next week I'll be sharing the other half of the two page layout.

Hunting Layout | 7/24
Today I'm sharing another hunting layout. I believe in getting multiple layouts from the same cut file. The chevron or herringbone pattern on this particular layout is from the same cut that I used on another layout I'm sharing later.
I love the balance between the stitched chevron pieces (that make me think of feathers) and the photos. I feel like the brown frame just ties everything together.
To add some texture to the white pieces I stitched the little ones with the machine and white thread and hand stitched the bigger ones with green thread. I've recently fallen in love with the texture of white on white, but knew I needed to add some green to draw the eye to the chevrons in the first place.
I stamped this tag with the month and the year. The date these photos were taken isn't known to me, but the month at the very least is really helpful. I pulled some extremely old chipboard pieces from Studio Calico. I wanted all my hard work on the chevron to be the star of the show so I kept my embellishments pretty minimal.

Hunting Layout | 6/24
I'm on of those people who love when I can spend an entire week and just crush several layouts in one go, (while doing all the other things I do) but with all the other projects I had going on that I wanted to share first, these layouts that I made back in early May, took a back seat, but I can share them now and I'm so happy to.
I've been trying to play up the backgrounds and keep the embellishments simple. On my personal pages I like a lot of white space, but because I can journal on them, it doesn't feel like a lot of white space. With these layouts I want the photos to shine, but I also want to draw attention to the page in the first place. This particular set of photos were pretty simple so I felt like I could play up the background and let the photos tell the story in their simple way.
I used papers similar to those from a couple of other layouts in this set and stamped some leaves onto the white paper to create a simple pattern.
Thank you for coming by to see this spread. I love being able to play with various textures and papers and not worry about if it looks perfect or not, the people displaying these pages and enjoying them care more about the story the photos tell than the products I used.
Have a great weekend!

Hunting Layout 5/24
Today I'm sharing another hunting layout. I didn't make any in March, made 1 in April (this one) and trying to be okay with all of that. My hope is that I'll have a month or two where I make a bunch of extra layouts, and it will all balance out. My goal is to make 24 layouts (even though my sketch tracker only goes to August - more about that in a later post).
Today's layout features phrase stickers on labels I made using this set of new Kellie Stamps. I made a text box and printed the "hunt sleep repeat" onto the tag and love the result.
These phrase stickers have been on my desk for ages. I think someone needs to create a hunting stamp set (or several) so that I'd have things to stamp into these labels. I used the digital Wild kit from Ali Edwards (no longer available) to colour the labels to go better with the spread - even though the one orange printed a little more pink than I wanted.

Hunting Layout 4/24
I used a 2-inch circle punch and cut the circles in half. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. After each row I stitched the half circles down. I wanted the background to be the star and kept everything else pretty simple. Just stamped the date onto one of the lighter half circles.
I love the combination of patterns, and the texture of the corrugated pieces and the texture from the stitching. I love how it all came together.
Thanks for coming by to see this spread. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
