Today I'm sharing another hunting layout. This one was inspired by a different piece of pattern paper, but I made this one from papers I've been using for these layouts. I love how it turned out.
The photo was simple and I wanted the background to be the star. I love how it turned out. I love the labels at the corners. I used this digital set from Kellie Stamps and just coloured them in shades of brown, green, and grey.
I used my sewing machine to stitch the edges of each paper layer down. It took some time, but I love the texture it adds. I love the texture combinations of the different papers. Some are smooth, but the patterns add the appearance of different texture.
Thanks for coming by to see this spread. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hunting Layout 10/24
Hooray another hunting layout. I'm sure you're all tired of seeing them, but I have this desire to share my work here whether or not it fits into the mold that has been created. I love making pretty layouts, but I also feel that it's important to tell as many stories as you can, even if it's just a bunch of photos telling the stories.
This layout uses a cut file from one of the very early rounds of Paiges Pages over at Big Picture Classes. I used the extra pieces for a the last couple of layouts as well. Here I just cut some random scraps to fit into the open sections and layered a few of the white pieces to create white on white dimension.
Here you can see some of the texture the corrugated and white pieces add to the layout. I also stamped the date into the lines. I don't have a specific date but the month is more than enough.
Thanks for coming to see this layout. Have a wonderful day!

Hunting Layout 9/24
Today I'm sharing the second half of the two page spread I shared last week (here). I've arranged them to show that the pattern matches regardless of which page is on the left and which is on the right.
This side of the layout has a slightly wonkier flow to the pattern. It wasn't until I got to the second page that I thought maybe it would be a good idea to use a ruler to make everything straight, but even so some of the spacing between white pieces is seriously off.
I added more leaves and the same date stamp to this layout. I love that they just add a little something extra to the layout.
Thank you for coming over here to check out this page in all of it's imperfect-ness. One thing I love about scrapbooking is that I'm the only one who cares about the flaws. Everyone else just looks at each of the design elements and how the things I used worked together. They don't necessarily see the pencil lines I forgot to erase, or the crooked paper strips or the rough cutting around the leaves. Have a great weekend.

Hunting Layout 8/24
Today's hunting layout is part one of a two page set. Today I'm sharing the piece on the left, but next week I show that the pages can be placed in either order and still fit together.
The background for this layout uses more pieces from the last hunting layout I shared (just the little pieces) and I created a scattered herringbone pattern with them. It's not perfect, but you get the pattern idea. We have a similar pattern on our bedroom wall with vinyl.
I added a few little leaves and a non-specific date stamp.
Thanks for coming by to see this layout. I hope you have a wonderful day. On Wednesday next week I'll be sharing the other half of the two page layout.

Hunting Layout | 7/24
Today I'm sharing another hunting layout. I believe in getting multiple layouts from the same cut file. The chevron or herringbone pattern on this particular layout is from the same cut that I used on another layout I'm sharing later.
I love the balance between the stitched chevron pieces (that make me think of feathers) and the photos. I feel like the brown frame just ties everything together.
To add some texture to the white pieces I stitched the little ones with the machine and white thread and hand stitched the bigger ones with green thread. I've recently fallen in love with the texture of white on white, but knew I needed to add some green to draw the eye to the chevrons in the first place.
I stamped this tag with the month and the year. The date these photos were taken isn't known to me, but the month at the very least is really helpful. I pulled some extremely old chipboard pieces from Studio Calico. I wanted all my hard work on the chevron to be the star of the show so I kept my embellishments pretty minimal.

Old & New
One of my goals this year is to use up some of the products I've been hoarding for what feels like forever. Including past Story Kits that I LOVE but think are too pretty to use more often than not. Like this Old & New kit.
I decided that getting new business cards for the Motel was worth documenting and I managed to find one of the old ones and swiped some new ones. They're so different and it's so awesome that after having the same business cards for over 20 years we finally got something more modern.
I have no idea where the "40 years" on the new one comes from, but the Motel has been owned and operated by Jon's family since 1993 and before that they owned a different motel, and before that I'm not entirely sure what his parents did. They've told me, but tired brain is tired.
Thanks for coming by to see this spread. I would love to see any of your old/new stories. I encourage you to tell a story about something that's different. Maybe your family moved out of your childhood home, or maybe they updated your childhood home. Maybe you got a new haircut. Tell your stories!
Have a great day!

Love You
I'm so excited about this layout. I'm also excited about the above photo. I love how it looks. I love the little photo, the sketch that inspired this, the gold splatters, the little details, the story behind the photo. I'm learning to love traditional scrapbooking more and more every time I create a traditional layout.
I made this layout with a photo of my sister and our nephew. He'd just gotten up from this nap and was still in the mood to cuddle under the soft blanket while he finished waking up.
I used 2x2 squares in a horizontal line and added embellishments in a diagonal across the photo to draw the eye towards the photo.
I love the texture of the white thread across the flowers and onto the white paper. I really like the gold splatters and how they come up to/onto the flowers.
Little clusters of enamel dots, flower, phrase sticker, photo and pattern paper. I love the touches of gold.
Heidi Swapp phrase sticker, date stamp, vellum label, chipboard heart and pattern paper. I live for the little details.

Kellie Stamps | Can't Stop Won't Stop
Today I'm sharing a layout made using the digital stamp set OBSESSED available now from Kellie Stamps.
When I saw this stamp (even with the typo) I immediately thought about how much we love the silly snapchat face filters. I could literally make a layout of silly snapchats every week.
I sized the photos to 2x2 and offset them so I could stamp the date on the edge. I added some chipboard pieces along the edges as well.
When I see things stamped over and over like this, in my head its just repeating over and over again. Kind of like a mantra, but more like "these faces are hilarious and we'll never stop".
This post is super short because my internet is being really wonky lately so it's taken me longer than usual to get this up. The NEW sets of Kellie Stamps are being released later this month on JULY 27th so mark your calendar and follow Kellie Stamps on Instagram to see what we're up to (here).

Hunting Layout | 6/24
I'm on of those people who love when I can spend an entire week and just crush several layouts in one go, (while doing all the other things I do) but with all the other projects I had going on that I wanted to share first, these layouts that I made back in early May, took a back seat, but I can share them now and I'm so happy to.
I've been trying to play up the backgrounds and keep the embellishments simple. On my personal pages I like a lot of white space, but because I can journal on them, it doesn't feel like a lot of white space. With these layouts I want the photos to shine, but I also want to draw attention to the page in the first place. This particular set of photos were pretty simple so I felt like I could play up the background and let the photos tell the story in their simple way.
I used papers similar to those from a couple of other layouts in this set and stamped some leaves onto the white paper to create a simple pattern.
Thank you for coming by to see this spread. I love being able to play with various textures and papers and not worry about if it looks perfect or not, the people displaying these pages and enjoying them care more about the story the photos tell than the products I used.
Have a great weekend!

Hunting Layout 5/24
Today I'm sharing another hunting layout. I didn't make any in March, made 1 in April (this one) and trying to be okay with all of that. My hope is that I'll have a month or two where I make a bunch of extra layouts, and it will all balance out. My goal is to make 24 layouts (even though my sketch tracker only goes to August - more about that in a later post).
Today's layout features phrase stickers on labels I made using this set of new Kellie Stamps. I made a text box and printed the "hunt sleep repeat" onto the tag and love the result.
These phrase stickers have been on my desk for ages. I think someone needs to create a hunting stamp set (or several) so that I'd have things to stamp into these labels. I used the digital Wild kit from Ali Edwards (no longer available) to colour the labels to go better with the spread - even though the one orange printed a little more pink than I wanted.
Thanks for coming by to see this spread. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Kellie Stamps | May Release
Today I'm sharing my layout for the Kellie Stamps May release. This month I used another acrylic word from a past Story Kit (I love the big white title) and (this digital stamp) from Kellie Stamps which is also available as a physical pre-order until the 15th (here).
When Kellie told me she was releasing a label stamp I almost jumped for joy. I think I was at work when I saw the announcement I was just so stoked to be able to play with labels and have a purpose.
This layout tells the story of my niece asking if we can make a craft before she even says hi to me. I told a super short story and used the colours of the digital Craft Story Kit (no longer available but you can get the digital stamp HERE). I also used the physical stamp set to stamp a few sentiments on some of the labels.
Originally the date had been stamped on the top label, but I felt that the layout needed a frame and the date got cut off. I love how the stitching adds that little bit of texture to the layout. Even on the "STUFF" label where I stitched over the word.
I didn't stamp on all of the labels and my stitching wasn't always straight but I love how it turned out. I've been really into embracing all the white space lately, which is a huge deal because every art class I've ever taken has insisted that you have no white space.
I hope you all have a great weekend, and a Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there.

Kellie Stamps | April Release
Today I'm sharing a layout that makes my heart happy. I used pieces from a past Story Kit from Ali Edwards (I literally never use it while it's still available and I don't know why). I also used the cross stamp from this digital set of Kellie Stamps.
This layout took me a little while to put together, but once the pieces came together I couldn't stop looking at it.
I put all the pieces in a vertical line and kept everything pretty simple. I think the background paper could have been a little simpler, but I really wanted to use this paper that I made. I love that the red pieces stand out against the black and white.
I backed the hexagon heart this piece on white paper to keep it from blending into the background. I just stuck it on white paper and roughly cut around it. It's not perfect, but I love how it separates the two pieces. I also love the acrylic word. I've been using them on a lot of my projects lately, and I love them so much!
Thank you for coming by to see this spread. It's super simple and just documents my niece trying to write "Auntie Alex". She's only 5 and given her very small knowledge of words she did a really good job. I can't wait to watch her writing develop!
I also used the April release in my Day in the Life album (here).

You Make Me Laugh - xoxo
Today I'm sharing yet another layout about my nephew (big surprise right?). Today's layout features some Kellie Stamps, tags, another frame and another acrylic piece.
This layout makes my heart happy. I wasn't sure about the circles, but I love that they make it feel a little more tied together. I also LOVE the background paper and how perfectly it went with this layout.
The story for this was that I bought both kids a little super soft stuffed bunny and I tucked his into the truck and he pushed it around the house giggling the whole time.
The X's and O's are cut with my Silhouette from THIS Kellie Stamps digital set. The "you make me laugh" is from an older physical set that I still absolutely love.
The "love" circle is from the Notes & Things Value Kit from Becky Higgins, the tag is available (here) from Studio Calico. The frame is from Heidi Swapp (here & on sale) and the blue heart is from a past Story Kit.
Thank you so much for coming to see this spread. I hope you have a wonderful day!
