Pink & Sage Celebrate

Ever time I turn around, I feel like I don't have enough birthday cards. Why does everyone have to have a birthday? Just kidding. I've been trying to use up more of my scrap paper because I currently have a box almost overflowing with paper that I've cut pieces from and never used again. This card was made using the left over paper from Friday's Gift Card Holder card.

I added the green behind it to add a bit more depth and make the floral paper stand out more.

You can't really tell, but I inked the edges of the celebrate piece with two different shades of pink. I used sage green ink to stamp the sentiment.

I used my Martha Stewart Doily border punch on the front edge of the card and adhered a piece of white paper to the inside edge on the back of the card. Then I inked the edges with the sage green ink again.

Here's a side view of the card. I adhered the celebrate piece with foam squares, and you can see how I attached the white piece inside the card. Perhaps next time I'll adhere a full white piece inside, or stamp something down the white edge inside the card.

There you have it! I suppose I should stop procrastinating and start working on my Christmas cards at some point! Going to Edmonton tomorrow, which means a trip to Michaels, and some Christmas shopping! Yay!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Congratulations

Good morning loves! Sorry this is a little late, I had to run into work this morning, and didn't get a chance to post this last night. The blog got a facelift yesterday! I couldn't be happier with how it looks, unless maybe I had a custom blog template. One day I might! But until then I love the one I have now.

A good friend of mine and Jon's recently became a part of a large Youtube channel, and since we're going to visit her and her family next week, I thought that we should take her a congrats card. She worked really hard on this, and the way she explains Warhammer stuff, I actually find it interesting. We're both really happy for her, and so I grabbed all my paper supplies and started making a card.

I made this card using some scrap pieces I had laying around. I used my 1" Martha Stewart Scalloped Circle punch to punch out all the circles. I also used my Martha Stewart congratulations stamp and border.

I adhered the congratulations with foam squares, over top of the string I ran around the card. I trimmed close to the stamp border because I loved the shape.

The circles were glued flat onto the cardstock. I tried to evenly space them for a cleaner look.

Once I finished the card, I realized that it was a beautiful piece of work. It just wasn't nerdy enough for her. Now I'm working on another card, which will hopefully fit her personality a lot better than this one would. The great thing is that I can still use this card for something else though!

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Birthday to You!

Made this lovely birthday card and wanted to share it with all of you! Some of it's elements were displayed in yesterdays graduation card, but the swirls on this one are more what I was going for in the last one. They're simple and beautiful!

This card opens from the bottom, and the twine was wrapped 4 times with a single bow. The large flower, and the one little flower below it have glitter on them.

I really don't like glitter, but this card needed something to make it sparkle!

The twine is centred between the swirls and tied with a single bow.

I was originally going to put the banner on the very edge, but decided that I liked it better at the edge of the beige paper.

What do you think? If you have any questions about what I used, I'll do my best to give you a detailed description.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Happy Birthday

For whatever reason, when it comes to making cards lately, I get stuck. But I recently made some birthday cards I'd like to share. They were inspired by ones I saw on Pinterest, but are different in some ways.
Each card is also a great way to use up some of those scrap pieces you have from other cards. Which is what I used for every one of them! It's one way to clean out your scraps box!

This first one is the first one I've made using my bicycle stamps. I believe I got them at Michaels for those of you interested in picking up some! I also used my Martha Stewart circle cutter to cut the circle for the bike and the navy circle behind it.

This one, I hate now. I struggled with the twine because it ended up being too long then too short, then it wouldn't stay in place. I used a glue pen to secure the twine to the card. I secured it at the bows and in the middle, and now I wish I had secured it all the way across.

After I made the first one, I wanted to make more of it. but I lost my "d" stamp and birthday was too long in the capital lettters, so I had to change the bottom font (after I'd already put the happy down, of course). Then after I took this photo, I fixed up birthday and filled in all the light parts and made it look better.

With a couple of the left over banner pieces I made this card, which was inspired by a Father's Day card. They had the ties where I have the banners. I actually love this card so much! I might make even more of it!

That's all I've made recently, aside from a few failed Father's Day cards. I only need to make 2 of them by Sunday, and I can't even make one. Hopefully tomorrow goes better!

Have a wonderful day loves!
