Week in the Life | Sunday

Today I'm finally sharing my Sunday pages from my Week in the Life album. Today started with Sleepy Hollow. I've recorded the whole season but haven't got around to watching any of it. I got to the Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover episode and had to stop because I haven't watched any Bones either. Eventually I'll finish it.

More daily gratitude on the back of the divider. I usually only put one or two items in my gratitude journal, but this week I had 3 for each day and copied them from my notes sheet into my journal and onto each card. The right side has a conversation between Jon and I that I typed and printed onto that card. I added a phrase sticker and a small stamp from the stamp set.

I think every single gold foil card was my favourite gold foil card. They're easily my favourite part of my album. Over on the left I have a photo of Socks and the speaker I use to play music while I shower.

Another day, another coffee cup. Today I documented my bookshelf. It's near our front door and I walk past this particular bookshelf a hundred times day. It's kind of in the center of the house and holds all of my to-read books as well as some of Jon's books and my redundant CD collection.

A selfie, phrase stickers and an acrylic heart. The book I was reading, weather photo, and the "work" card I made using this months release of Kellie Stamps (see a better photo of it here).

Finishing up my day at work, and then home to play Dungeons and Dragons because my sister's boyfriend came down this weekend.

Plastic letter and stamped "Sunday's are for" and wrote about fighting dragons, and laughing, using our imagination. This project will always have a place in my heart, but I'm so glad this is complete. I keep flipping through this album because I just love it so much.

This final quote came from this #givesunday post by Ali Edwards. I love her handwriting and I'm so glad she did #givesunday and that I took advantage of all the free word art to use in my albums and hang around my house.

I'd like to take a minute to talk about #littlesummerjoy and how you can access ALL the content of the class.

Week in the Life | Saturday

Today I'm sharing my Saturday pages of Week in the Life. I'm in love with the teal colour of the gold foil card, and love how well in printed on the hello Saturday circle. Today started with The Originals.

Another daily gratitude on the back of the half divider. I used some of the new Kellie Stamps (available here) on photos today. Like the top 4x6 photo. I was reading and drinking coffee, that stamp was perfect. More phrase stickers and Jon painting.

Gracie is ready for me to be done with this project at this point, and her face says it all in that photo. I love the combination of the gold and the teal on the day card.

Coffee cup photo. A picture of my desk, and a picture of the dragon Jon painted for me (in 6 hours, no big deal). I plan to blog some photos when the whole group of angry dwarves is finished.

I used another digital Kellie Stamp from this set. In Photoshop I just cropped my photo smaller and painted the background white, added the digital stamp changed the colour and added some journaling. I printed the whole thing together as a 4x6 photo. You can see a better picture of that photo (here) I made a blog post.

Today I took more photos at work. I added the weather over a photo of my slowly growing peonies and another phrase sticker. I used this stamp set to stamp she said and he said on labels and documented a conversation.

Final pages. I love the messy circles (digital available here). I also loved the plastic letters and stamping on my last large photo every day.

Just one more day left to share. Have a wonderful weekend!

Week in the Life | Friday

I can't believe June is basically half over at this point. It feels like it was just starting yesterday. This year is literally flying by and it's almost impossible to believe.

Today I'm sharing Friday of my Week in the Life album. I still love the circles on the center of the opening photo, the half divider, the wood veneer numbers, the phrase stickers, rubber banners and gold foil. I love the indirect repetition of elements throughout that seems to bring everything together.

Another day of gratitude on the back of the divider, another unsealed pocket with a wood veneer number. I need to remember to fuse all of them shut and make a label for the back of the album.

Another temperature photo with the day of the week phrase sticker and another gold foil daily card.

Another coffee cup photo (which I actually love since I used a different cup every day of the week). More phrase stickers and journaling on photos. Jon's been assembling and painting the beginnings of a dwarf army this week (for me so we can play Warhammer: Age of Sigmar together. Super nerdy).

Another feet photo, another weather photo (no phrase sticker this time). The top right card says "am" and "pm" in the corner of each box and I used an older set of Kellie Stamps to stamp "rain" and "more rain" because all it did today was rain on and off.

I love close up photos of the pages of a book. Here I cut it in half to fit the 3x4 pockets and along the shadow on the right I wrote "I love reading" over and over. I love that most of the words on the page are out of focus but you could read it still if you wanted. On the right I stamped "Fridays are for" and journaled a bit about the day next to the plastic letter.

Thanks for coming by to see these pages. Have a wonderful day!

Week in the Life | Thursday

Today I'm sharing Thursday of my Week in the Life album. Today I started the day off watching The Originals.

Gratitude, everyday details, Gracie, phrase stickers and wood veneer number. Simple and done.

Another temperature photo, more phrase stickers, more simple daily details that are often overlooked. Like how I left the chicken on the counter yesterday, how the garden hose sprays the air conditioner because we need to replace the hose. The flowers are finally blooming.

Simple details, breakfast, watching Jon assemble models, gold foil card, phrase stickers.

Another day, another coffee cup. More daily details, his and hers coffee. His black, hers a mocha. More phrase stickers, more journaling on photos.

More little details, banners, phrase stickers, journaling on photos. A few details from Jon, working on creative projects, messy desk, photoshop and podcasts.

Rain, simple journaling, phrase stickers, foot selfies, little details, short stories. Partial pages (the two 3x4s on the right).

I love how the white letters look on the large 6x8 photos. Again, apologies for the glares, I swear they look great in person.

Thanks for coming to see my Thursday pages. Have a great weekend.

Week in the Life | Wednesday

Today I'm sharing Wednesday of my Week in the Life album. My type A personality loves that I was able to colour match the daily messy circles to the gold foil cards as opposed to the chipboard circles that were in similar colours but didn't match the foil cards.

Another gratitude card, another rubber banner, and phrase stickers. I love the simplicity of my album this year. I love that everything managed to fit in the rings without making the album overflow and the pages curl a little like last year. It also helps that the rings were larger than last year.

I love taking "from where I stand" photos (or foot selfies) I had quite a few throughout my album. Today's is in the garden. I also have a lot of photos of #gracietheungraceful but she's cute so it's okay. And another foil card.

Another day another coffee cup. The top right photo talks about how we don't keep the big can of coffee on the counter, but instead use it to fill a smaller can and keep it on the counter. On the bottom photo I journaled around the outside of the bowl. I love hot it looks. I'm always looking for creative ways to journal on my photos and throughout this album I've tried different ones. Like journaling around the edge of an object.

I documented my gratidue journal, the creating of a coffee cup album and some texts I exchanged with my sister.

Another temperature photo with a daily phrase sticker and more journaling on photos.

Labels, phrase stickers, "Wednesdays are for" stamp and white letter. I also made a point to include on large photo of each of our cats.

Thanks for coming by to see my album. Have a wonderful day!

Week in the Life | Tuesday

Today I'm sharing Tuesday of my Week in the Life. Another super simple day, very similar to Monday (here). I hate that I never seem to have the timing right to take photos. I like to use the natural light in the kitchen, but with the sun rising earlier, the timing to take the photos is harder to nail down. That being said, sorry for all the glare on the pockets.

Today my day started off with Grey's Anatomy. I work nights so I record shows and watch them days later while trying to avoid spoilers on Facebook.

Another gratitude card on the back of the divider. Cutting them in half was possibly the best thing I did. I also made use of all of the journaling cards and used all the rubber banners. I love adding banners and labels to the center of a photo. It draws the eye into the middle of the photo. In this case, it also hides the clutter of my planner.

I also loved the acrylic hearts in the kit. I used quite a few of them. I love that they were white and added a little dimension in the simplest ways. Another foil card right on the rings. I love how it looks. The colours were so vibrant and I have a thing for gold foil.

Another day, another coffee cup photo. On each of the "weather" photos I put a phrase sticker with the corresponding day of the week. I love the large wood veneer numbers, and I'm still looking for a way to use the remaining numbers.

I documented cutting my finger while cutting watermelon. We cut the rind off the watermelon and put it into a container. I like having all the waste out of the way immediately. On the right side I added a flair from this set from The Crafty Pocket. I custom fused the top half into a 4x4 and two 2x2 pockets.

On the back of the flair from the previous page I adhered a small round label and stamped "every day magic" on it before adhering it to the flair. I stapled the "this" banner to the bottom photo for a little textural variety.

The right side is a 3x8 with two 3x4 pockets. I added a label to the top photo.

On the back of the 3x8 page is two more photos. On the bottom photo I adhered the fortunes from my fortune cookie.

The right side has more journaling on the photos.

On the last 6x8 photo I stamped "Tuesdays are for" and journaled a bit about the day.

Thanks for coming to see my Tuesday pages. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Week in the Life | Monday

I still feel slightly mentally exhausted from completing this project. Not to say that I don't love it, I do love documenting a week in more detail, but it's exhausting.

I might also be suffering from a book hangover. I crushed Me Before You by Jojo Moyes in two days (if I could have done it in one I absolutely would have). I loved the book so much! I can't wait to see the movie. I'll probably cry like a baby. I'll share more about my thoughts on the book when I share my #operationreadmore May post next week. Back to my WITL album.

When I got the kit, I thought about making my title page similar to the one I did last year with the 2x2 pockets (see it here) or like the 2x2 pocket page I used in my December Daily (here). But while browsing Pinterest I came across Ali's title page from 2014 and I loved how simple it was and I knew I wanted to include this quote she did for #GiveSunday last year instead of a photo. I love words that set the tone and inspire before you even look at the photos.

On the front card I wrote a short reason why. It covers a little bit about us right now, but also the reason I wanted to do this project. I adhered one of the chipboard circles from the kit to the front of a transparency.

On the back of the opening page I stuck one of the stickers from the packaging on the back of the transparency over the back of the chipboard shape, and below I wrote a short paragraph about where each of us is at right now. Age, what we're into, etc. Things that wouldn't be documented anywhere else in the album.

The beginning of each day is pretty much the same. For some reason every day this week started with me watching TV and the first photo was usually a glimpse of whatever I was watching. On Monday it was Sister Wives.

I cut my dividers in half (thanks Ali) and I love that it made them a little easier to turn than having the full divider on there. I also have a project in mind for the other half of the divider.

I used the digital messy circles and the digital kit to get the colours to match and made flat circles to put on the center of each first photo. I wanted to use the chipboard, but because I wanted them all in the center, it made the album outrageously bulky. So I'll save them for another project.

I created some gratitude cards for the back of each divider to write down the 3 things I documented being grateful for each day. I thought about using the same cards she did, but liked this better.

I added the gold foil daily cards straight to the rings (like a lot of people did). I love how it looks and introduces the day (again). I'm learning to love repeating that throughout the album.

On the back of each daily card, I included a photo of my cup for that day. Originally I'd thought about using my cup photos for my opening photo, but liked this better. It's a smaller way to tell the story of my day.

The wood veneer numbers were slipped straight into 3x4 pockets and I haven't fused them shut yet because I'm not sure if I want to add anything else to it, or paint or emboss the numbers. I think I'll just fuse them shut and leave them like this.

I journaled a lot on the photos, and used a bunch of phrase stickers (I'm learning to love them and use more of my stash) and I had printed and cut some labels that I'd made in the same colours of the kit. I love how they just add a little something to a plain white card. I used the stamp set from the kit to stamp "real life" on that little orange label, journaled and added a phrase sticker. Simple. Done.

I used all of the cards in the kit, except the ones Ali put on the back of her dividers. I just couldn't get over needing to write something from the morning, afternoon and evening on them, so I didn't use them.

Another repetitive thing I did every day was use snapchat to put the temperature on a photo. It happened almost on accident, but by Wednesday I figured I'd just keep doing it every day. If I didn't use the photo I'd at least have a bit of the weather for the day and could write it down somewhere.

I also used all the rubber banners.

Orignally the half 3x4 was a flip pocket, but when I was trying to reduce the bulk and remove some photos I couldn't get the tape off the photos so I left it, but I love how it looks.

On the last 6x8 photo I stapled the plastic letters and stamped "mondays are for" (different for each day of the week, not Monday for every day) and journaled about that photo, or little pieces of the day.

Today's photo was me acknowledging that looking at our cluttered fridge makes me happy. There's photos of various family members on it, and drawings/coloring pages from our nieces and nephews, and some valentines and cards from nieces and nephews. It's just so full of love, and while it looks messy and cluttered, it's something that I love. I've thought about removing some of the stuff, but I know that it'll likely end up in the garbage, so I just keep adding colouring pages to the clip and enjoying seeing things that make me happy several times a day.

Thanks for coming by to see my Monday pages. On Friday I'll be sharing my Tuesday pages. Have a great day!
