Project Life | Week 16

Good morning! Today I'm sharing week 16, and finally taking part in Karen's link up again. I've been super bad about it, but kept her badge in my sidebar. I'm going to make a point to add my link to her link up though, and I encourage you to as well!

This week I packed and left for my trip to Dauphin to watch my cousins Ukranian Dance competition, and final recital. I didn't include too many photos from the trip because I made a mini album of it, but I included a few since it was a large part of my week. I made sure to pick up 2 programs and included one here and one in my mini album.

Here's the left side. I started #myselfiescrapbook this week and included a couple photos that I included in that. I finished another book, and included a couple feet selfies. I love #kelliestamps and used them a few times on this spread. I used them on the blue card and stamped "Family trip/holiday/road trip and journaled about my trip with my parents. I also used her "view from where I stand" stamp on my foot selfies.

Here's the right side without the program. I included my favourite photos that captured what we did this week. I drove 6 hours to find the last bit of snow, my love of old brick buildings, my cousin in her dance uniform, the photo I snapped of my cousin, my mom, my grandma, and my dad not paying attention (of course). My other cousin running around and playing with me, reading stories with my dad, and making alphabet soup. She was super shy when we got there, but warmed up to me immediately. Took her a little longer to warm up to my dad, but when she did, they looked at books every chance she got.

Thanks for coming by to see my spread for this week. I'm still working on my mini album, but when I get it finished, I'll absolutely share it here. I'm just trying to decide if I want to include words with my photos, or just the photos.

Don't forget to visit Karen's blog and add your Project Life link to her link up. It can be a link to a blog post, an instagram post, or a public Facebook post. It doesn't have to be a post you made today, the link up is open for an entire week, and you can add your link at any time. For more information on the link up, just visit her blog.
Have a great day!

Project Life | Week 2

Good morning! Today I'm sharing my spread for week 2 of my Project Life. Just a simple spread again, full of crafty goodness, and books.

This week I used cards from the Midnight Edition, and Dear Lizzy Daydreamer mini kit.

Here's the left side. I included a photo of the final Save the Date that she chose. I printed one out to show her how it would look. She loved it. I included a stack of books I got in the mail, the Christmas tree was still up at this point (no big deal right?). I included a shot of my desk while I worked on my One Little Word prompts.

Here's the right side. I was photographing Project Life spreads from December, and the window was frosty, so I snapped a photo of it. Gracie yoga sleeping beside me. I dyed my fingers green making the vintage book mini album this week. I also included the book pages and the final mini album. So pleased with how this week turned out. So far I think I can fit it all into one album!

Thanks for coming to check out this weeks spread. I hope you'll join Karen's link up on her blog! I'd love to see your spreads, and I'm sure you'd love to see everyone else's spreads!

Have a great day!

Project Life: Week Fifty-Two

Good morning! Today I'm sharing Week 52. Because I got sick just after Christmas, I combined the last week and a half into one week. I wanted to keep the year together, and didn't have many photos from the end of the year, so I included a few extra Christmas photos, and made it a double two page spread to finish off the year.

Here's the first spread. This covered our work Christmas lunch, and Christmas with my parents on Christmas Eve. I used cards from the Christmas Theme Pack by Becky Higgins.

Here's the left side. I decided to stick to Green for this spread, simply because it felt more cohesive to me. A few photos from our work Christmas lunch, and the Elvis photo was a gag birthday gift for one of my favourite co-workers. She hates Elvis, but we always tease her about the Elvis plate collection (she doesn't have one). She was an amazing sport, and said she'd hang this up, because Jon and I gave it to her. She laughed so hard when she saw it. It was possibly the best gift I ever gave someone. We laughed about it, and she loved it. I promised that next year we'd buy her the Elvis collectable plates.

Here's a few pictures from Christmas at my parents house. Jon made the turkey and snapped a photo of it. It was delicious. after most of the family left, my mom, my sister and I had some wine, and I made sure to get all the baking in the photo. I tried out a new recipe, (I'll share it later), and there were so many sweets that we definitely never made a dent in them. There was only 9 of us, and enough baking for a small army.

Here's the second two page spread, Christmas with Jon's family, a few little things I didn't include earlier in the month. I used the red cards from the Christmas theme pack from Becky Higgins.

The only picture I have from Christmas with Jon's family is the turkey. It was amazing! The food was great, and we had a great time with his nephews, playing in the giant cardboard house they brought to entertain them with. I included a photo of the tree topper, and the ornament his parents gave us (a tradition of theirs is a new ornament every year). We got together again at my parents house to exchange gifts with my brother and watch the kids open their gifts (long story about why they didn't come to the original Christmas).

I made sure to include the window stickers Tori and I put up at the start of the month, but I forgot to include. I included the ornaments his sister and her husband gave us as well. The bottom left photo is of a frame I'm working on with photos of my siblings and I. I found recent photos of them, and collaged them with their "kids" and then wrote the date they became part of the family (more about that later). The bottom right is a 4x6 card with journaling about our New Year's Eve.

I started this album with the First Page cards from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan core kit, and I'm ending it with the last page cards. I might embellish a bit, or add something to a couple of the cards to make it a little less plain (perhaps a photo or something). That's the end of 2014.

Once again don't forget to add your link to the Link Up over at Day to Day. Just click the photo to be taken to Karen's blog and add your link! Browse the other things and be inspired, share your link and inspire!

Project Life: Week Fifty-One

Good morning! Today I'm sharing week 51 of my Project Life. I can't believe I'm almost to the end of sharing my spreads from 2014. It was such a crazy year, and I know 2015 hasn't been much slower! I'm finally branching out of my comfort zone and doing more custom cards. I have one set of wedding invites and save the dates for a wedding this August (Jon's sister). I know of a few people getting married next year, and I've considered reaching out to them, but I'm not sure. I understand this year is about DOING, however I don't want something I love to become work and something I no longer enjoy.

Enough about that. Here's my spread for Week 51. In the summer I was working on catching up on 2011-2013 and used most of my Christmas cards on those pages, so I decided to keep these pages not-so-Christmas-y. Next year I plan to try out December Daily, and just choose one thing about Christmas to document each day in December in a separate album, and keep my pages in my main album, also a little less Christmas-y. This week I used cards from the Jade Edition.

Here's the left side. Have I told you how much I hate socks. Sorry about my toes. I thought I cropped those out. The little Groot one is a photo I found on Instagram and just cropped to fit in the pocket using the PicFrame app.

Here's the right side. I don't know why, but when I have a group of photos from an event, I usually put them on one half of the pocket page, usually stacked. I don't know why, but I do. At the end of this week, we went to my cousins house, and we had never been to her place, so we had to Google Map her address because we got a little lost in the very small town. Apparently they have 50 houses with the same number, but the street they're on are all different. It was confusing, but thank God for smart phones.

Thanks for coming by to see my spreads. Don't forget to add your link to Karen's link party. Just click the above photo to be taken to her blog. Make sure you check out the other links!

Project Life: Week Fifty

Good morning! I still hate Monday's, but at least I can share my Project Life with all of you. I don't live a super exciting, or glamorous life, but it's my life, and I'm having fun documenting it, in this way. I wish I took more photos, so I could make more mini albums, but given that this year I want to keep everything in one album, I suppose I'll have a few extra pictures that don't make it into each spread, and I can make mini albums with those.

Here's my spread for Week 50. I used the Blush Edition for this spread. I'm trying to use up some of my stash, and use older kits that I have just sitting there. I'm considering taking 1/3 of each kit and setting it aside to donate to the Seniors Lodge. They've been looking for different crafts to make with the seniors, and what's better than helping them to document the wonderful lives they've lived. I'm sure it's something that their families would like. I'll look into getting something started, and if anyone wants to donate any extra cards they have laying around, I'll be sure to get some more information to share.

Here's the left side. I missed my Niece's birthday at the end of last week because I had to work, so I made up for it by going to see her Christmas play at church. She was so excited that I came. I pulled out my two Christmas cups, and made some tea in one. It took me three tries that day to get a hot cup of tea. My niece and I made a lego Christmas tree, and she was so excited about it.

Here's the right side. We added our Christmas tree to our lego train. The lodge had Birthday Bingo for the families of the seniors with Birthday's in December (they do this once every month). We had some unseasonably warm weather, my niece and my cat cuddled on the couch, and a very rare selfie.

This week, we have another Project Life Monday Link Up. Just head over to Karen's blog (here), check out her pages and add your link to the bottom of the post. Don't forget to check out some of the other wonderful spreads being shared, and spread some love.

Thanks for coming to check out my pages!
Have a great day!

Project Life: Week Forty-Nine

Good morning! Today I'm sharing Week 49 of my Project Life. I had planned to share this last week, but being that I was sick, I pushed it to this week instead. I promise that I'll eventually get finished sharing my pages from last year, and start on this year. I think I'm going to stick with weekly spreads, running Monday - Sunday so I can keep the weekends together. I just haven't taken many photos for week 1, or 2 yet. I'm not even sure what week we're currently on.

This week, I used a variety of things, mostly from my stash, but a few that I bought specifically to make a few Christmas-y pages (though most of them aren't over the top Christmas-y). To introduce the month of December, I made this two page spread.

On the left side, I used a cutfile from Wilna over at iheartstudio.ca. This file was included in her Heartfelt Christmas Workshop, but can be purchased in her shop. I made it big enough to fit inside of the wreath that was already on the patterned paper, and cut it out of some red cardstock. I glued it to the paper, and then cut the paper to fit into the individual pockets. I love the way it turned out.

On the right side, I trimmed a piece of 6x6 paper from the My Minds Eye Sleigh Bells paper pad. I cut some more pattern paper for the top right and bottom left pockets, and added a chipboard frame to the top right, and a little tag with important December dates to the bottom left. I added a sequin pocket with a resin present from the Freckled Fawn Very Merry Embellishment kit. The sequins are from my stash. I cut some patterned paper and added some washitape to the card next to the tree. I adhered the tree cutfile from iheartstudio.ca to some red paper.

Here's a close up of my washitape tree. Originally, I was going to use this as my first Washitape Wednesday project, but I'm still not sure if I have enough washitape projects, to make it a regular feature.  The star clip at the top is from Freckled Fawn.

Here's my actual Week 49 Spread. I used the gold foil kit from We R Memory Keepers, and a few cards from the Midnight Edition.

Here's the left side. You can see the back of the sequin pocket. I used the lucky card as my title card, and added journaling to a couple of photos because I had minimal space for journaling cards.

Here's the right side. The top photos are the two attempts we made at dying my sisters hair. I don't have an after picture, so I just used the two of the process. A few things we learned that day were to never believe the internet, Kool Aid doesn't change the color of your hair, I'm still terrible at getting even coats of dye (in this case bleach & dye) on her hair, and box dye doesn't always generate the color they advertise. It was a learning experience, but even after three years of dying her hair for her, I suck terribly at it. So grateful I'm not a hairdresser, or I'd actually have to be good at it.

This week, I'm taking part in a Project Life link up hosted by the lovely Karen Drummond over at Day to Day. (Click the above image to go to her blog). My goal is to add my link to her blog every week, and I might miss some weeks, but I'm going to try my hardest because Project Life is always better when you share it with like-minded people!

Thanks for coming by to see my spread this week. I hope that you'll pop over to Karen's blog and add your link to the party! I'd love to see what you've made!
